Terms and privacy
In short and in plain words: the rules of the site and what happens to your data.
Rules
- Othello Info is run by the site administrator. Contact: kontakt@othello.info or the form on the “About” page.
- An account is free. By creating one you accept these rules. New accounts are approved by the administrator.
- Comments must be polite and on topic. Offensive, promotional and off-topic comments are removed, and breaking the rules may get your account blocked or deleted.
- Puzzle results and ranking places are public. You solve puzzles on your own, without game-playing software.
- By uploading a photo you confirm that you have the right to it and agree to its publication on the site.
- Tournament results and ratings come, among others, from the World Othello Federation archive and may contain errors. Let us know and we will fix them.
- These rules may change. We will announce important changes on the site.
Privacy
- Your data is controlled by the site administrator (kontakt@othello.info).
- When creating an account you give your e-mail, first name and last name. You can add a nickname, a WOF number and a photo. We also store your activity on the site: comments, likes, puzzle solutions and earned badges.
- Your nickname is public, or your first and last name if you have not set one: next to comments and in the puzzle ranking. Your e-mail address is never shown.
- A message from the contact form (name, e-mail, text) is used only to reply to it.
- Data is used only to run the site. We do not sell it, show no ads and profile no one.
- The technical log (visited pages, errors) is kept for 30 days, without full IP addresses. Database backups are deleted after 14 days.
- Only essential cookies are used: they keep you signed in and remember your language and theme.
- The server is located in the European Union (OVH). E-mails from the site, such as password links, are sent by an external mail provider.
- You can ask to see your data, correct it or delete your account together with its data. Write to kontakt@othello.info. You may also lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority (UODO).
